• Curriculum


    Saint Joseph's has an exciting and stimulating curriculum.  The child is at the centre of all learning at Saint Joseph's with a focus on enhancing the intellectual capacity as well as the social/emotional capacity of all students.  A detailed  Curriculum Framework is in place that highlights the priorities for all learning at Saint Joseph's.
    There are seven Key Learning Areas in the Primary Catholic School Curriculum in New South Wales.
    These are: 
    Religious Education
    Science and Technology including ICT
    Human Society and It's Environment
    Creative Arts 
    Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

    Learning Assistance Program (LAP)
    Enrichment and Extension (Gifted & Talented) Workshops
    RELIGIOUS EDUCATION is taught using the Diocese of Lismore guidelines. N.S.W. Board of Studies syllabuses are used to provide learning experiences for all other Key Learning Areas.

    Saint Joseph's provides extra-curriculuar activities.  These activities include musical instruction, school choir, school band, regular school assemblies, author visits, book week activities, school socials and visits by cultural groups.

    The school attempts to penetrate the wider community through participation, as much as possible, in local Catholic Schools Week activities, Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts, ANZAC Day ceremonies and community activities as they arise.
